DMC - Tweet Tweet!

I love the birdy trend so I had lots to go on for this DMC dare. In the end I went with my Sassafras Lass owl stamps and made them into little Christmas carol singers! I used Fancy Pants papers, felt, fibres and pompoms for the santa hats, bit of doodling and glitter glue and then the greeting is printed on some acetate and stuck on with teeny brads.

Great fun! Thanks for the dare DMCers :-D

Here's my card for this weeks dare! I had to keep it simple, just got hardly any crafty me time just lately :-( But I made some me time and spent a lovely Sunday afternoon playing!
I'll bet no one can guess what my song was, it's fairly cryptic I think anyhoo :-D
I'll be doing the draw today for the Children in Need competition so good luck to everyone who entered. I'll make the announcement tonight and post some of the cards I got emailed to me too. Well done to everyone who made cards and thank you to everyone who made a donation!

Fundraising Competition!

OK are you ready to enjoy a bit of a challenge and a chance to win a scrummylicous prize and help to raise funds for BBC Children in Need?

It's super fun and super easy to join in. All you need to do is................

Make a card with something Yellow

The yellow representing Pudsey bear you see! You can use bears too I guess if you wanted more of a starting point that's up to you! It would also be great to see something completely different so think outside the box and off to the left a bit, get inventive and make something different while you're making a difference!

The only other thing I ask is that you pop along to the BBC Children in Need fundraising page and make a donation of a £1 (or more if you want to!) when you've joined in.

Once you've made your card pop it on your blog (or you can email it to me if you don't have a blog to put it on and I'll post them here) and post a comment to let me know you've joined in so I can compile a list of all the entries here, keep a count on how much we've raised and enter you into the competition too!
Lets have lots of fun and raise lots of yummy pennies too!
So here's my something yellow card..........

I made a yellow felt flower and used lots of yellow Bazzill and some yellow Love Elsie paper. See, so you can use as little or as much yellow as you want as long as there's something yellow on there we're good!

Oh yeah........

I guess you'll want to know what the prize is? Well it's a super yum pink polka dot All My Memories mini tote 2 filled with Autumn Leaves stamps, Petaloo Blossoms, some of the new Queen & Co felt fusions, pink glitter marker, cardmaking kits and papers and loads of other yummy bits you'll love and just want to look at and stroke and coo over! :-D

The closing date for the competition is Monday the 26th of November. The winner will be drawn at random from all the entries so everyone has an equal chance of winning!

This competiton is now closed

Have lots of fun and if anyone has any questions let me know.

Happy Crafting!

Noel Noel

Here's my go at this weeks DMC dare!
The corrugated card I used is a yummy pink wavy corrugated one I've had in my craft stash for an age and finally found a use for! I also made the first cut in my new Love Elsie papers. I used a bit of Noel and and bit of the Zoe ranges. I also used Heidi Swapp letters and a bit of inking and doodling. Really simple but I like it!

I'll defo be using all the Noel papers for Christmas cards it's v cute!

P.S Stop by again before Friday for info on a very special competition I'll be hosting! You might want to start hoarding some yellow stash now, that's all I'm saying........

Loads to Share

Hi!
Not been in bloggin land for a while! I've been in hospital having an op but I'm back home now and raring to go with those Christmas cards and I've got lots to share I was busy with a couple of weeks ago. These are some cards I did for Ribbon Oasis using some yummy Christmas ribbons:

And some more this time with bright and funky ribbons (I'll blog more about these ribbons later they're part of a special set):

So will be doing lots more Christmas cards from my sick bed, sooo sick of daytime TV now! lol
I'll make a start on the DMC snowman dare too though I am a bit behind I know. Speaking of Snowmen incidentaly have you seen Patsy's snowman card on the front cover of Papercraft Essentials!!! So exciting because Patsy used one of my Crafty Templates!!!! Well done Pats love you mrs!!! I'm making you a super dooper mega goodie bag when I'm better next week :-D
If you want to get the template it's in the Chrsitmas set which is available to download from the Crafty Templates homepage, you just scroll down a bit and you'll see it. I wanted to make all the site nice and spruced up for it but I've just not had the chance being ill, it's sooo pants feeling rotten when there's so much I want to do lol. Good job I've got new crafty goodies to play with eh.

DMC Circle of Friends

Here's my card for this weeks dare to make a friendship card with circles! I used a circle punch to make the flowers with some patterned paper offcuts and Bazzill then added a bit of doodling.
This one's for all the DMCers. Thank you for so many fabby dares and congratz on your one year birthday! Wow, how fast has that year gone eh! The first dare I joined in with was the sewing on a card one, I'll dig it up from my blog it's here somewhere.......

Found it!

Wild!

Well here's my interpretation of this weeks DMC dare to use something animal inspired. It's a funky Christmas stocking shaped card with animal print, grrrrrr! :-D

I've used one of my shaped card templates and then covered it in pink felt then made the animal print bit with black and white felt. I'm defo doing all my Christmas cards with a pink theme this year! lol

Thanks for a fabby challenge Kathy!

DMC all dared out!

Well I've done both DMC dares this week. The postcard idea is so cute so I couldn't wait to start that one I've not posted it yet but will be doing soon....

I used my Bampop Hello bot stamp, some SEI paper and plain card I've doodled on to make the frame.
Then I also did the little extra this week. I just love Christmas holiday time so my word I picked was love and this is what I made.....

It's felt with a doodled boarder and a felt Christmas tree I cut and embellished with some gem brads. The love word bit is some lush Love Elsie fabric paper.

Thanks for the dares girlies!

Framed, just for you!

Hi! First of all apologies for the lack of blog post for a while I've not been feeling too hot just lately and work and other commitments came first. I'm still whacked out and feeling like poop but getting through it . When I do make the time though cardmaking is perfect to keep your mind occupied isn't it so hopefully the cardmaking can help me chillax and heal.
So here we go frames...... I used the GoGo Greetings September kit to make my card which was perfect because everything was just there to use so I didn't have to get everything out to start playing!
I sketched out the frame on coloured card, cut it out and added colour with Galaxy marker pens then used it to frame some patterned paper. The little prezzies I made with more bits of card and added some ribbon bows. Just finished off with the stamped greetings stamped on to white card. That's it mega simple :-D.

Star of Wonder

My go at this weeks DMC dare!
I really enjoyed this one even though it was a bit of a toughie! :-D
I used purple ribbons and ricrac for the must use purple bit. I tore up a bit of corrugated card for the must tear something bit and for the holey bit I punched some holes in the front of my card and through the holes I've embroidered some little gold stars so when you open them up they're on the inside too. Other bits I used are a chipboard star I painted and covered with glitter and a verse of one of my favorite hymns "We Three Kings of Orient Are".
I like how it's turned out and I wouldn't have worked this combination if it wasn't for the Dare so thanks girlies!

Thanks for another mega fun dare DMC's!

E Z P Z Fluffy Flocked card

This is my go at a fluffy card for the DMC little extra this week. I used a piece of flocked wallpaper and then just added a bit of ribbon and some stamping, so E Z P Z!

BTW doing this card made me think of that fluffy paint stuff that I used to play with as a kid, the one where you dried it with a hair dryer and it puffed up, what was that stuff called because it's bugging me to bits! I've got some embossing powder that's supposed to puff up but it's pants, no where near as good as that paint stuff used to be, wonder if it's still for sale? Hmmm

Heidi Swapp ribbon, Graham & Brown wallpaper and Royal Langnickel stamps
TFL xx
Update on the puff paints things from the 80's we're thinking it was puff its or fluffits something like that puffit paints? Anyway guess it's just one of those things that's doomed to do my head in for a while! lol xx

Happy birth die cut card.... oh dear that's such a lame attempt at a title.....

Super busy this week but did manage to make a card for the DMC dare. It was supposed to be for someones birthday at the weekend but when I'd finished it it just didn't suit them (they're much more pink and girly than this card) so ended up diggin another one out with seconds to spare. But here's the original card that is now on my stand by cards pile.......

The diecuts are the letters that make up the happy birthday bit. They're Colorbok ones that I bought a million years ago. The rest is all hand cut using my own template.

Thanks for another fabby dare DMCers! I've just been peeking at the fluffy challenge so I'll have a go at that one later, can't wait! :-D

Buttons Rock!

Me loves me buttons so loved this weeks DMC dare
:-D.
All the buttons are stitched on the background paper. I glued on a bit of lace round the edge because it just needed something and a frame didn't look right so I settled for the lace. The message is just printed out.
I was thinking this card would be great to send to another crafter as they'll be able to chop off the buttons to use again! And I defo know they would even if they said they wouldn't lol, well I would!
Background paper is Making Memories, buttons are a mix up of new and vintage ones from my stash. Thread is embroidery thread along with lace from my local haberdashers.

Thanks for another fabby dare!

P.S
If you're bored this week pop along to the Crafty Templates blog and check out the competition. All you need to do is make a shaped card with a birthday theme. I've got a Basic Grey Periphery kit to give away as a prize and there's some lush buttons in there too along with some of the papers, diecuts and some yummy ribbons and lacy bits too, it's defo TDF stuff!

The Frill Of It All!

I've been super speedy with my DMC dare this week! I needed a card quick and sparked by the frilly prompt I created my frilly card with frilled up ribbon and lace. It's hand stitched on so I could catch it easier. The torn and cut paper on it is my new Scenic Route papers I've cut into at last after two weeks of stroking! lol.
I added a message with an old Scenic Route sticker and rub ons, then finished off with a felt flower and chipboard button I made.

Thanks for another fabby dare!

Groooooovy

So yesterday teatime I was checking out the lush pink Queen & Co blog and having a peek at the glittering Fontastics technique by Johanna Peterson. Now anything that involves glitter has to be worth a play so I had a play and made another owly card and this morning it's only on the blinking Queen & Co blog, how cool is that!

I followed the technique here, peeling back and painting the letters. Then dotted glue on the Fontastics and sprinkled over glitter. I made owly from felt and made the two o's into his eyes and added a mini square brad for his nose/beak. Then finished off with a bit of doodling.

Thanks Queen&Co girlies for sharing fab ideas!

Sunshine

I posted another Tuesday challenge on the Brain Jelly blog this morning with this card as a sketch so here it is made up. I cut out the sunshine shapes (try saying that over and over quickly, :-D) from felt card and paper and stitched them together then curled the ends of the sunshine a bit to make them 3D. I stitched some more ribbon on and gathered it a bit just for a different effect.

If you're wanting to play along with the challenge too take a look here and spread some sunshine! awww

Photo Card

The DMCers dare this week threw up the prefect oppotunity to do a bit of a card/scrappin mash up!
I was playing along with the summer scrappin classes on UKScrappers on Sunday and used Scrapdollys class as inspiration for my card.

I used Banana Frog stamps, ric rac from Ribbon Oasis, Bazzill cardstock, American Crafts marker pens, Scenic Route and Creative Imaginations paper, felt flowers and Papermania buttons.

Thanks for another fabby challenge! :D

Elsie Challenge

Challenge details are here

So I did my LO with my 26 things to do before I turn 27. Gawd that sounds so old. In my brain I'm still 16, rubbish how time makes you have to grow up eh. lol
I put things on there that I have to get through from now until then (like having to have a thyroidectomy - not nice) as well as nice things I want to do (like learn to knit from my grandma).

The Kraft paper and lined paper is Scenic Route, dotty one is Circus Rose (IP) The numbers are MME and there's a couple of Love Elsie chipboard buttons on there as well as my own made ones, lots of felt and a little bit of doodling.

Heaven Has Another Angel Today

Our special boy passed away this morning. I wanted to put up a tribute to him because he was so loved and so special to our family. he really loved everyone he met and everyone loved him to bits. He was an absolute angel, so loving to everybody he was not a cat like any other he really loved people. I always used to say he had some doggy DNA in him somewhere because he'd do stuff that doggies normally do like run to the door when you opened it, follow you everywhere and wag his tail when he was happy. He also seemed to know every word we said to him. If you'd ask him to do something he'd do it. He also used to invite himself to the neighbours BBQ's, he loved a good BBQ and used to follow his nose till he found one and beg for a bit of sausage or burger, which he always got away with because he was such a cutey with it! He'd do a cute doggy begging thing putting his paw on your lap!
I can't imagine at the mo how much I'm going to miss him. I'm so glad I have lots of super cute photos of him and pages I've scrapbooked. They're making me smile now which is a comfort.
Duncan was adopted from the Cats Protection League. He was the most special cat you can ever imagine so if you're ever considering letting a cat share your home please please please consider adopting a cat or kitten from the CPL. You don't have to go to a rescue center you can phone up and they'll put you in touch with a local carer. Your cat will already be vaccinated, microchipped and neutered all free of charge too.
Love you Mr D

It's About Time

It's all about time this week over at the DMCers place. It's pizza time is something we say a lot here. Is it pizza time? That just means it's a vegging out time in front of the TV with pizza and appropriate beverages. Maybe a bit of ice cream too.........
I used a piece of Bazzill chopped in half and folded to make the base card then did a bit of stamping with some Papermania swirl foam stamps and some acrylic paint on it. For the title I used a mix up of chipboard alphas and the embellishments I've made up with scrapping leftovers. Bit of doodling with pens to finish and that's it.
Thanks for another challenge DMCers!

I've got an anniversary card to do for tomorrow, no ideas other than it's a 30th which I think is pearl so maybe something pearly beady? If anyone's got any ideas to share please do. xxxx Hmmmm will have to get the gear out and have a play.

Yes............ that's a Christmas Card! lol The Christmas card I used a check ribbon from Ribbon Oasis the cupcake card I made a check doodley background with Galaxy marker pens on Bazzill. Pocket Full of Hugs

My DMC dare card for this week. For my pocket I used the jeans pocket template from Crafty Templates to make a pocket shaped card then decorated it with Love Elsie fabric, Circus Rose paper and some random buttons. I filled my pocket with hugs, made using different alpha stamp sets stamped on some card scraps.

Lynne I have a funny story about the origins of that Pretenders song Brass in Pocket from my mum and dad. Back in the day a few years before I came along my dad was in a 'rock band' and the band played a few 'gigs' with the Pretenders. In Yorkshire speak 'Brass' means money and when Chrissie Hynde heard them talking she thought it was cool and wrote it into her song. So that's what it means she's got some brass in her pocket and she's off on the town! Funny eh!

Thank U!! Little Extra

Thank you cards are just the best to make! My 'fakes' are the buttons I made from chipboard covered with scraps of paper. I also did a bit of fake doodled stitching round the edge. The monogram is a MME one and I figured that was a bit fake because it's been made to look a bit 3D but it's flat! Thanks for another ickle extra dare DMCers and congratz for your 50,000 accomplishment. I'll dedicate my thank you card to you guys for helping me make my cards way more creative and fun!  xx Leo

Habertrashery

Couldn't think up a title for this post, came up with habertrashery because as well as using stuff from the haberdashers on my card for the DMcers dare I've used vintage buttons and a page from an old pattern making book so that's the trash bit...
When I read the dare this morning I knew I had to have a play because my desk at the mo looks like the after effect of a free for all in the haberdashery dept. Seriously there's buttons and threads and ribbons everywhere so that's basically what my card turned out like, all these bits I've got laying round squished into a 140mm squared card blank!

I used a Petaloo blossom, MayArts ribbon and some more bits from Ribbon Oasis, Lace from my local haberdashers, Habiknit and buttons, some vintage some not, one's a Love Elsie chipboard one.

Just like to also add that I absolutely love a good rummage in a Haberdashers. Rooting round for little forgotten gems for 35p a bundle and going to the till with armfuls of goodies that always seem to add up to less that £10.00? Love it! :-D

60's Inspired

I picked out Popart as my 60's inspiration, specifically Andy Warhol. I cut out four pieces of coloured card, then stamped the same image in different coloured inks on each piece to create the effect.
The stamp is a Banana Frog one from the funky flowers set, cardstock off cuts from my stash and a bit of Love Elsie Roxie tiny ribbon.

Text Message Reply

My DMCers dare go for this week! Make a card with some text in it somewhere. So I picked out some Elsie paper with printed text on, jammed it together with a bit of Scenic Route paper (which also has some text in!!) some cardboard, a Papermania silk flower and a bit of Elsie fabric in a heart shape. Ded simps!! :-D
I've also made an owl template from my last card for Gillian and anyone else if you want it, watch out for that book in stores soon......... lol!

My birdy's too Beadilicous

Finished my DMC dare at last! This one is getting beads in to your card. I'm not sure if the card works or not but I'll keep playing with it. The gimmie a hoot thing is like just saying hi or whatever but I keep thinking it's I don't give a stuff, give a hoot so I'm not sure if it works as a sentiment, (in my head anyway!) but it works with the owl. I like the idea of sewing the seed beads on the felt though so I'll have to play about with the idea, maybe pick some beads that are a like colour or little crystally ones, I've got enough seed beads to play with anyway, those things get all over the place don't they? Or is that just me too! lol xx Leo

I had this clothes tag on my desk for an age, it's fabric and made to look kind of vintage I wanted to pick out another different kind of packaging too so I dug out the old post mark that was part of an old stamp collection I bought (to use for cards, not really into stamp collecting lol). The post mark is from Honolulu, Hawaii dated December 1971, I think it's really cool! That inspired me to pick out the funky Hawaii shirt style papers (they're A-Z papers, really lush) and I used some Kraft Bazzill cardstock, wet and rolled the edges to try and make it look like an old package. The message I printed on some ribbon and sewed it to the clothes tag like a kind of luggage label? I fixed the card together with staples painted to look all rusty and old.

Thanks for letting me guest design DMCers! Had a really fun couple of weeks playing along with you! xx Leo

Such a Bird, DMC Little Extra

My go at the little extra DMC dare where we have to use the word 'fabulous' somewhere on a card.
The card is part of a set I've been making all with funny birds on I've called 'Such a bird'.
I sketch out the birds on Bazzill cardstock, add a bit of colour and pattern with Galaxy marker pens then doodle over the top and cut out. It's funny how addictive they are to make!
Couple more of them here:
