Cardmakers Dare

This week the dare is to make a doodled card. I've doodled a little Christmas pud to make the embellishment, added a bit of colour and doodled a bit on the edges then wrote on the message. Thanks for another fab challenge girls! xx

All the Fun of The Cyber Crop

Had some fantastic fun doing the UKscrappers cyber crop this weekend. It was crazy hours, full of crazy people pretending to be wizards but it was crazy fun, as well as being very educational of course!
I have some lovely layouts, minibooks and canvases out of the classes and got some fantastic ideas for future projects. I was even lucky enough to win a little prize for my services to the cyber crop!
These are some of the things I made. If you want a go at the classes yourself head on over to http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk.

Cardmakers Dare

My go at the new card makers dare this week.
The theme (to use ribbon on a mans card) fitted just nicely for me as my ickle baby bro has just bought his first house, so I need a special card. Because I know it'll end up in the bin I've not done much to it, used a scrap of silver card that's been sanded, bit of Junkitz paper and the ribbon I've cut into lengths then made into a house.
Thanks for the dare girls! If you're reading this and haven't had a go yet go check it out!!

Scrappy Jewels

I've been wanting to mix my papercrafting and jewellery making ideas for a while now and have finally got down to trying out some ideas. This is a quick key fob/ charm I made with a piece of chipboard covered in patterned papers and glazed over with a pearl glaze. I made the necklace (bellow) a bit ago from a Prima Candies blossom, Fimo, rose quartz and mother of pearl beads. I'll have to do some more experiments!

Going Dotty

Well, I'm feeling like crap today :(
I'm ill with a cold, which meant I didn't enjoy bonfire night like I usually do because every firework bang made my brain rattle inside my head so I'm feeling sorry for myself because of that. I have an absolute ton of work to do today including a commission that should have been in the clients home by today. So instead of snuggling up in bed with my honey and lemon I have to get up and get on. Then I've just found out I didn't get on the Banana Frog Design Team, which to be honest I didn't expect to but secretly I was hoping it might cheer me up a bit if it was good news. Then I've just remembered UKScrappers is down today so I can't go and muck about on there till my brain starts working again. I need a disclaimer at the beginning of this post it's so moany! I'm just feeling sorry for myself I'll be back to normal soon enough.
This is my minibook I made for the Banana Frog DT comp. I collected together some of my favorite papers and ribbons (all dotty ones) and filled it with some of my silly favorite things. All the embellishment (except a blossom and the papers/ribbons) I've made myself with stamps or handpainted/sewn. I'd recommend having a go. It's a great way of using up papers you like, (you know the ones that are too nice to use) and making something just for you. These are just a few pages.

Cardmakers Challenge

Card using machine stitching. I've used a Heidi Swap blossom, stiched on in the center and decorated with spare scrapbooking paper (Gin X and Doodlebug), mismatched stitches and pink velvet ribbon from my sewing box.
